The U-14 Boys tournament team finished first at the Myles Standish Tournament in Pasadena held on Thanksgiving weekend 2008. In the pool games the team started with a 4-0 win over Westchester, a win by forfeit and another 4-0 win against Burbank and qualified for the semi-final game with the highest points among all thirteen teams. In the semi-final game the team faced South Pasadena and won the game 6-0 and reached the finals. In the final game, our team faced an extremely skilful and strong team form Pasadena which had also won all its previous games. It proved to be an exciting game, since only fifteen minutes into the game the score was 2-2. The Glendale team was able to score two more goals by the third quarter but gave up two in the last quarter and was forced to play the over time. The thriller went into the penalty shoot out and at the end Glendale team came out victorious and captured the championship. Congratulations to: |
