Team Zone Procedures
(for Coaches)

Each coach will be receiving a username and password to have special access to edit your team page for in the Team Zone. Your user name and password will be sent to the email you have given to Region 88. (Questions about Password information is below.).

The Team Zone and game schedule is for "Coach's eyes" only right now. It is important that you do not send any link to your parents before Sunday, August 24th, when it wil become LIVE to everybody. We still need your help to fill in your team's information and add in the snack list. (Instructions below.)

Below is a list of things you wil be able to do in the Team Zone.
(#1 and # 2 are required)

  1. 1. Edit your team information, such as team name, colors, contact info, etc (Go to instructions)
  2. 2. Creating a Snack list for your team's schedule (Go to instructions )
  3. 3. Editing your parent's email list (Go to instructions )
  4. 4. Sending an email to all you team parents at one time (Currentlyl Unavailable)

Special Instructions for Division Coordinators (For DC's )

Note for AOL Users:
You MUST open Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, or Firefox to edit. You will not be able to edit items using the AOL interface.

Team Zone FAQ's

Logging-In and Editing your Team Information

a. Go to: http://schedule.ayso88.org/login.php

b). Enter your Login/User Name and Password, and press "Submit" to pull up a list of divisions. Your login will be your email address. You will receive your password in email. if you did not receive one, go here.

c). Click on your Team Division. You will then see a list of Team Names, Team Numbers, Coaches Names and emails.

d) Click on the "Edit team" button next to your team name.

e) Upon pressing the "Edit team" button. the following edit box will pull up. Only fill in the areas marked green.

- COACH
Do not add a second eamil address to the coach's name. If you do, you will not be be able to get access to the team zone.

If your email changes, see : "Changing your email address" immediately.

- TEAM NAME
Make sure all text is Upper and lower case text.
(Example: Wild Cats, not WILD CATS)

- UNIFORM COLORS
Format: Jersey/Shorts (Example: Hunter Green/Black)

- SPONSOR NAME
Only fill in Sponsors Name.
DO NOT
fill in sponsor's website, email address, or phone number
.

- ASSISTANT COACH & TEAM COORDINATOR
(Click on edit and type in first & last name and email address only)
DO NOT fill in any other info, such as phone number, or address

- PRACTICE
Do not edit the practice fields.

TIP: Adding in a SECOND Asst Coach or Team coordinator

Only way right now is a band-aid fix.

When editing the Asst Coach, after First Name, type the first Assistant Coaches "full name" and "and" (or a slash) and for Last Name, type the 2nd Assistant Coaches "full name"

EXAMPLE 1: First Name: Aldo Mascheroni and
Last Name: Frank Bagheri

Result: On the team page, it will look like
Assistant Coach: Aldo Mascheroni and Frank Bagheri

EXAMPLE 2: First Name: Aldo Mascheroni/
Last Name: Frank Bagheri

Result: On the team page, it will look like
Assistant Coach: Aldo Mascheroni/Frank Bagheri

2. Creating a Snack list for your team's schedule

Before you or your parents print out the team schedule, it is important that you will need to add in the player's last name to the snack list. This will need to be done for each game.

a) Go to your Team web page.

b) Scroll down to the team schedule.

c) Under the column called "Snacks ", click on the [edit ] link . This will pull up the list of players names (and parents emails) on your team.

d) Juts click on the box next to the player's last name who you want to do snacks for that game. You can choose more than one snack person by clicking a second box.

Note: If a player's name does not show up, see #3 below to edit a name

3. Editing your parents email list

Throughout the season, some of your parents may change their email address. You can keep your list up-to-date very easily.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Do not add any other information such as phone number, address, etc. Doing so is a serious violation of AYSO policy
- At this point, only one email is allowed per parent, so find the one most used by that family.

To keep your list up-to-date, do the following:

a) Log-in with your coach account and go to the list of teams in your divisions.

b) As long as you are logged in as an official coach, you will see an "Edit Parents" link . Clicking on this give you access ONLY to the parents on your team.

You can also find the "Edit Parents" button just above the Breaking News banner on your Team Page.

c) A box will pull up with your teams list of your team player's names and their parent's email. (available only to the coach with this log-in. By clicking on the edit key next to the parent's email, you can change a few items:

E-mail
Update, or correct, the email address. Use the most used parent's email. Make sure all the characters are correct. (Currently, only 1 contact email per player)
- Even if you do not have an email address, DO NOT delete the player name as this is used for the snack list.
- Do not add any other information such as phone number, address, etc. Doing so is a serious violation of AYSO policy

d) Press "Apply" after any of these changes

4. Sending an email to all you team parents at one time

Not currently available.

5. Printing a Schedule

Once you add the snack list to your schedule, you can print the team's schedule for all your families. Or tell your parents to go to your team page, and have them print out their own schedule.

a) Go to your team web page.

b) Click the Print Schedule button. This will pull up your Printer when you can print the schedule like any other document.

Disclaimer: It is impossible for Region 88 to know how all printers work, so please do not send any emails for printing problems.

6. Adding a "News Item" to your Team web page

a) Go to your Team web page.

b) As long as you are logged in as an official coach, you will see a "add a news" link in the Breaking News title bar.

c) Click on this "add a news" link to open a box to type your news item.

d) Add a clear and simple title (or subject). This is what will be shown (in a blue link) under the Breaking News section (Example: Summary Title) .

If it is for a specific day, make sure to include the day in this section, such as: "Practice cancelled Thurs, Sept 12."

e) Click on the calendar to choose the date when you created the message. This shows when you posted the news item. If you do not put a date, it will be seen as 00/00/0000.

f) Write the details of your message.

g) Click "Publish" and it will post your message to the team web page under "Breaking News".

h) For the team members who see this, when they click on the news item, the details will show up (as shown below).

i) To delete the news item, click on the Trash can button to the right of the news item to delete.

7. Adding a "Game Summary" to your Team web page

Same as #6 above. Just make sure to title appropriately (such as: Game Summary #7 vs Cheetas ) and for date, put the date of the game. You can make changes after publishing by simply clicking the edit button next to that item you want to change .

8. Deleting a News Item or Game Summary

Next to a new item, just click on the "Trash Can" button to the right of the news item to delete. Be careful as this is irreversible.

8. Adding a Practice Field

Go to Team Zone and Log in

a) Go to your Team web page.
b) Go to your team
c) Click on the "Edit Team" button and lok for the practice field information

- Choose the "day"
- Choose the Practice "start time" (make sure pm)
- Choose the Practice "end time" (make sure pm)
- Choose the Practice "field"

d) Click on the "add" link
e) Press "Apply Changes"

HOW TO "DELETE" A PRACTICE FIELD

If you messed up and need to delete a field, just highlight the
practice field you wish to dlete and click on the "del" link.

Once a field is added in, you can not edit it.You have to delete it
compleetly and start over. <Sorry>

User Name and Password Information

If you have not received your username or password, or have any problems:.

1) First, check your Spam filter in case the email was forced in there. Especially, Earthlink & Yahoo users.

2) Second, look on your division list at http://schedule.ayso88.org/divisions.php and make sure we have your correct email. If the email is incorrect on the list , email the correct email to the webmaster and we will send a Team Zone account to the updated email.

3) Third, If the email IS correct, it may just have gotten stuck in email cyberworld somewhere. To try one more time, go to the "Forgot Password" link on the log-in page (http://schedule.ayso88.org/login.php) and put your email in the "forgot password" box. This will resend to you a username and password.

4) If this still doesn't work, then email the webmaster.

Remember: Your User Name and Password are unique for each coach, and will only work for the team you are the head coach of. If you are uncomfortable with computers and want somebody else (Team Coordinator or Asst Coach) to do this for you, you must give them the User Name and Password. But do this sparingly.

Want to Change your password?
After you log-in with your given password, you can click on the "Change your Password" link to create a new password that you can remember better. Keep in a safe place and DON'T FORGET IT!

Is your password not working, or have you forgotten your password?
Passwords are case-sensitive so be very careful in how you type it in. Make sure the CAPS key is not on. If still not working, or if you have forgotten your password, go to the "Forgot your Password" link. A new password will be to sent your email.

Password Safety: Do not make your password so easy that anybody can guess it, and unless you are giving to one other person to edit your pages, do not give the password out to anybody.
