October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Region 88 recognizes the devastating effects that any cancer can have on a family
Region 88 is partnering with “Sarah's Dreams: A SoCal Chapter of The Cure Starts Now” to help those who have been stricken with the disease (please see https://thecurestartsnow.org/get-involved/chapters/california-southern).
With our “Region 88 Kicks Cancer” campaign, Region 88 has designated the games played on 10/20 and 10/21 as the weekend when all Region 88 participants will have the opportunity to contribute.
First game coaches will be given a pink soccer ball in which every parent can “kick in” one dollar every time their child’s team (or the other team or both teams) scores a goal (there is absolutely no obligation to do this).
Coaches will then pass the ball to the next set of coaches and at the end of the day the field managers will collect each ball.
Donations will be gathered and I will personally deliver every dollar to “Sarah's Dreams: A SoCal Chapter of The Cure Starts Now” on behalf of Region 88.
